Title: Power fold mirrors
Post by: asohotra on April 11, 2019, 04:22:57 PM
I have a 2004 Ford Galaxy 130 and want to fit the VW Sharan power fold mirrors. The car already has the non power fold VW Sharan mirrors fitted. Apart from the power fold mirrors, what other parts would I need to do this and has anyone already done this mod who can advise me.  Your help would be appreciated.

You'll need the controller and the switch plus a degree of savvy to wire it up.

The controller takes the command from the switch and then drives the mirrors. It also controls the timing and disables them if manually folded. Its shared amongst many VWs of the year so bot hard to come by. The hardest part will be getting wires into the front doors.

Thanks Mirez. Do I need any relays for the mirrors to operate when remote central locking is activated, and fold out when the central locking is de-activated? Also do I need to wire up both doors or just the drivers? Do you have mirror wiring diagrams?

There is no factory provision for fold on ignition, you'll need to design your own circuit to do that. Mine folds on ignition as you'll find that easiest.

You'll want to wire both up together, technically I don't think there is a reason why you couldn't just have the one but I've not tried it (whats the point?) and the controller is looking at both mirrors so may well have some protection in there.
