Hi all. I need some help with a coolant leak in my Petrol 2.0l Ecoboost Galaxy.
I've just returned from a short drive and noticed the fan was running. I had no warning lights on the dash. Thought I'd look under the bonnet to check the coolant level and it is spraying out of the pipe directly behind the radiator. I've attached a picture. It's coming out of the horizontal hose in the middle where there is a vertical collar.
I don't know what this is, but there is a tiny hole in it. Does anyone know what this is?
I can get a replacement pipe but am I ignoring a more serious problem?
Many thanks
Looks like a bleed screw has broken off, see if you can get remains out and put a standard screw with an O ring on. Would think itââ,¬â,,¢s m4 or m5 thread?
johnnyroper you superstar...I've managed to dig out the old bleed screw which had disintegrated in the hole. I've now replaced with a small bolt with a o-ring.
Fingers crossed this will solve the problem.
Thanks again.
Hopefully that sorts it.
Well done! Another option if you need it could be to just get down to the breakers yard and switch the part over from anither car. At least you can see where the leak is and know exactly what the problem is, that is usually 90% of the problem
