I am just in the process of registering my MK1 in France. The authorities have come back and told me the variant on my certificate of conformity (AVG1) in unrecognised and I should go back to Ford. Can anyone advise what it should be?
Thanks very much
In what context? Trim level, engine, chassis?
You can look up very basic details on Etis using the VIN number - http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do
Use Chrome to load it, not Firefox as it doesn't work.
Which country is it currently registered in?
The certificate of conformity has sections for type, variant and version. The variant is unknown by the French
Pff there are so many things that could be variants! Is there really nothing else to show exactly what they are referring to?
At the highest level I would suggest its "WGR" then which is the chassis variant.
