My Galaxy has developed a fault where that when I engage reverse, there is a continual noise (not beeps) from the back of the vehicle. Even when I go forward the noise is still there unless I press the cancel button. The front sensors work OK.
We have checked the 4no individual sensors in the back bumper and changed one that appeared to be faulty but it made no difference. Do I have to have fault codes reset, or is there some other reason? :-\
Best to get it plugged in and diagnosed as it could be another fault other than sensors. Diag software will point you in the right direction so you arenââ,¬â,,¢t playing guesswork
I have an OBD2 Code reader but the instructions are not clear. Do you think it will help in the diagnosis and possible reset of faulty codes? Or should I let a garage do the business? :-\

All depends what reader/software you have. In my experience it is only more advanced stuff that will work like vcds,forscan etc

It might be worth unplugging the sensors one at a time and seeing if you can isolate the problem one that way. That said though, you might find the problem is in the wiring rather than a sensor as well. Garage should be able to see whats wrong and resolve it though if they have appropriate diagnostics.
It might be cheaper to try Forscan though - theres a forum for that software, it might be worth checking there as when I needed a cable for mine it cost around Ã,£20, so probably cheaper than the garage would be anyway. You'd need a laptop though.

Unplugging one at a time tends to put in fault status and continual bleep as control unit sees open circuit.
As said buy an elm means and download forscan software it will be far cheaper than taking to a garage and it can be used again.
Thanks again, however, as I am not particularly computer savvy, I took it to a garage who found another faulty sensor. All working fine now. :)
