Hi All,
I have been trying to find this leak forever.
The door to glass weather strip was leaking and there was no door lining so some was getting in there however the rain was still getting in and lots of it!
I have this morning found that it is coming from above the roof lining (Front drivers side).
The gutter looks clear so its either this leaking for some other reason or it is coming in through the roof bars.
Can anyone advise how to remove both the roof gutter seal and also the roof bars please just so I don't damage anything.
Thanks,
Po79.
Not a job for the feint hearted to be honest BUT it's an easy DIY job if you give yourself plenty of time. It's all bolted in from the ceiling so requires the headlining to come out. Remove all the trim bits, abc and d piller covers, roof lights etc and the headlining then slides out the tailgate. It WILL permanently crease if bent so you need to take your time but once out it's just a case of a few nuts that hold the bars to the gutter. The rubber is clamped by the bars and can't be removed with them in place.
Finally the only holes up there are for the roof bars so it'll be them letting the water in.
If you have little hands and a 1/4 ratchet with a little angle big then it's JUST possible to lower the headlining in the effected corner and get in to tighten it up but, tbh you'll be a third of the way through at that point.
Was there not an issue with the drain tubes becoming disconnected from the sun roof, I do believe there's one on each corner.

I think the title is the OP trying to say he doesn't have a sunroof?
Thats right Brian no sun roof.
I took the roof bars off and put an 8mm washer under each of the rubber seals on the roof bar and putty on the flange of the washers.
So far with a hose pipe there is no leak just need it to rain to be sure.
There is also a leak on thw drivers door to glass seal but I've refitted it a few times and it won't stop.
But I think the roof leak is sorted so this is solved.
Cheers guys,

NO!
It was still leaking and it turns out it was the top right corner of the windscreen.
Before i got the car the windscreen was replaced for the MOT, obviously badly.
Cut out what i could cleaned and dried it and then sikaflex'ed the hole.
If it doesn't work it'll the whole screen removing and refitting but i guess i now know 100% what the problem is.

Replacing the screen does seem to cause problems particularly if its been done badly as it sounds like yours has. Can you hear any whistling sounds when driving at speed?
What you've done would be what i would do in that case, as you say if it still doesn't stop it, then the screen may have to come out and be resealed, Hopefully you can avoid that as they don't always come out without breaking, and the Galaxy/Alhambra has quite a large windscreen anyway so its more likely to.
Hi Brian,
No whistling sounds just lots of water.
The problem was it wasn't showing up when I put a house pipe in the car however it was raining lightly when I looked the other day and it was pouring in and I couldn't miss it, very strange but I'm happy to have finally found it.
It's raining here again today so should test the repair.
Cheers,
