Have fuel and air filters been changed recently?

Also what sort of driving style do you do, round town etc or does it get some good runs? Might be worth doing a good old Italian tune up to blow the cobwebs out.

Hey

1: Fuel filter has not been changed for a while.
2: Air filter cleaned yesterday. Ordered new one.

Around 5000 RPM ringing noises comes from Turbo area.

You sure itââ,¬â,,¢s coming from the turbo? Seems strange it makes noise that high up the Rev range but not when it is working itââ,¬â,,¢s hardest at mid range trying to reach max boost.

Excess end float/worn bearings?  Might have contributed to the emissions issue.

Unsure where it comes from the ringing noise. I go on motorway, put the car in neutral, then rev it up till 5000 for few seconds, and that's when it comes.

I wouldnââ,¬â,,¢t think that would be the turbo as itââ,¬â,,¢s not doing a great deal when unloaded revving up in neutral. If noise was from turbo it would be more apparent loaded up when working hard in my opinion.
Does it happen when revving to 5k while driving?

Ok,

Took to a different garage, and passed with 0.57. That's it sorted for a year.

With limit set to .60, but I am little pessimistic about the next year's test.

New Turbo in last 8 months
Skimmed Head, new cams, valves, new timing belt et al.
222,400 miles.

What can I do to lower the emissions further?
