Ford Galaxy 2004 Zetec 2.3L automatic
There is engine management alarm on the dashboard. According to the OBD tester it is showing alarm P0722 "output speed sensor circuit no signal"
I have had the transmission oil changed recently thinking that might be the cause, but it is not. (though the oil was really dirty and black) The alarm is still on.
I realize that there might be few other causes causing it but would like to start by changing the sensor.
I wonder if somebody has the picture of this sensor so that I could buy from ebay or so. I tried to google it but got confused as there are many around. I don't want to go to the main dealers as they are too expensive.

Surf the Internet for anything more than to come back here.
Both the sensors on the top are the speed sensors;
Iââ,¬â,,¢m insure which is output/input, but try swapping the sensors around and rescanning, to make sure itââ,¬â,,¢s the sensor at fault and maybe not a bit of the wiring loom to it.

The output one should be the one at the back, near the differential end of the gearbox (where the drivershafts go into).
If the oil was really gungy it may be worth pulling that sensor out and seeing if it needs a clean up, while its out and disconnected if you scan for errors again you should then get an open circuit error on the output sensor, which would confirm the sensor is the output one.
What you ideally want to do is to get the part number specific to your vin, that will make finding the matching sensor much easier, It might be on the actual sensor if your lucky, otherwise you may need to look at Microcat. I'd have a look on the sensor first though.

Thank you for response. When the engine management alarm appeared, we suspected the transmission oil so we changed it. (The oil was really gungy. The pan, the magnet were thoroughly cleaned ). We found some loose connections on the sensors that were fixed. After this the "alarm P0722 "output speed sensor circuit no signal" has disappeared, but "alarm 0768 - Shift Solenoid D electrical" appeared instead. The engine management light remains on. The automatic gears shift smoothly. Please can you shed some light. I would like to know where is this solenoid located and can it be easily dismounted.

I don't know which one is the D solenoid, but the usual problem one is the one referred to as N92. Though if you unplug it then try to scan again this should allow you to narrow down which one it is (as you will gain either a different error on the D solenoid, or an error for a different solenoid with any luck, allowing you to narrow it down further)
It might also be the case that having changed the fluid that its starting to break up any gunge in the system with the new oil (you will never get all the old oil out, particularly if its turned to tar which they can do). I'd be giving it a good run to get everything in there hot and then change fluid again if you haven't done so already and you still have problems.
