Title: Alloy Wheel Paint
Post by: Daza101 on June 24, 2018, 02:27:47 PM
Hi,
Annoyingly I've just managed to curb one of my alloy wheels. The damage is fairly light so I'm hoping to sort it out myself with a little rubbing down to smooth out some scratches then hopefully blend in just the affected areas with paint.

The vehicle is a 2013 Galaxy Titanium X with standard wheels.

I've downloaded a copy of the brochure and it describes the wheels as 17" 5x2 spoke alloy wheels (standard on Titanium & Titanium X).
Most of the other wheel options show the colour as "sparkle silver" but no colour is shown for mine.

Does anyone know what colour alloy wheel paint I need or even a paint code?

Thanks for any info.

Standard Ford alloy paint is indeed sparkle silver so thats a safe bet unless its got any black surfaces on it.

Thanks for the reply

I've spent hours on google and found several dealers and Ford parts suppliers which have the wheels listed and show the colour as Sparkle Silver like you say. It's a pity the Ford brochure didn't show the colour for these wheels as it would have saved a lot of searching.

I did call my local Ford main dealer this morning and they suggested the colour would be Moondust Silver which now sounds to be wrong.
It's odd that Ford sell a touch up pen and spray for Moondust Silver but not Sparkle Silver.

Halfords don't know about Sparkle Silver either so can't mix it but I have come across the following site which seems to sell it:
