Replacement of the coolant temperature sensor requires removal of the multiplug connector and a simple horseshoe type clip, unfortunately owing to the location of the sensor (right hand rear of cylinder head) access is limited and you will be working blind.
1.Start by removing engine cover, just pull upwards after removing dipstick, remove battery cover, now remove packing and rubber seal from bulkhead extension then the three bolts and remove bulkhead.

2.Remove fuel filter with bracket by pressing button on rear of bracket and slide up, position filter over the mounting for extra clearance.

3.Remove multiplug from MAP sensor, then remove hose clip and pull out spring lock clip on EGR valve, you can now remove the air charge pipe.

4.The sensor is now just visible below the tandem pump, you may want to use a small mirror at this stage.
Remove the multiplug then the horseshoe retaining clip, this may be fitted either way round but is easier to refit from the top.
Fit the new O ring in the housing and a smear of Vaseline on the sensor will aid refitting.

5.View of sensor looking from the rear of cylinder head.
