Title: tdi no start
Post by: Mihkel Ader on May 28, 2018, 07:05:10 PM
Hello all, i was wondering if i could get some advice,
I swapped my old AFN engine with a 1Z engine with the old AFN turbo and put the AFN injectors and pump on the 1Z block. The ECU is also the AFN one but after doing all of that the car wont start. Timing is spot on and i've tried turning the pump, but no luck. Weird thing is that the vcds says that the modulating piston movement sensor is only getting 0.75v instead of the 1.5v that it should get? And the injection valve is 95% open when the ignition is on but when you are cranking it goes to 45%

Not very familiar with the VE engines but I would be looking at crank sensor/wiring initially.
Did you swap loom over from old lump as the one on replacement could be breaking down also?

The loom was the original one with the afn engine, crank sensor should be ok as it isnt getting any codes and i took it out and cleaned it just incase.

You donââ,¬â,,¢t always get any codes from a crank sensor so donââ,¬â,,¢t rule it out.
Maybe try the original one in there
