My wife's Auto Galaxy has recently stopped unexpectedly three or four times - usually in traffic and then takes a long time turning over before it starts. When starting from cold its absolutely fine - always starts really quickly. I have a feeling this is a relay problem but can't remember which one. Any suggestions? ???
Probably the usual "Relay 30" issue - I think with a diesel it will be Relay 109 (or 601 as it will look when you look at it, as its upside down). Resoldering the joints on the pcb in the relay will normally fix it.
If relay not the fault cam sensors cause similar issues when hot
Sorry for the delay in getting back - I got a relay from E Bay for Ã,£15.00 installed and so far all seems well!
Thanks guys :D.

I had the same problem two months ago.
After three visits to ford and a bill of 300+ euros it still came back.
Talked to a friend working at vw.
Came by the day after with the relay. Never had problems since.
A waste of money and some scary moments to late. But at least I could keep the galaxy :)

If you still have the old relay pop the back off it, resolder the joints that go dry in there, and keep it as a spare!

That's all I did with mine, resoldered the joints and shoved it back in. Never a problem again.
And mine on 2 of the 3 occasions over the 2 Galaxies I've had (the first one i replaced with a relay scavenged from a fusebox from the scrapyard before i knew what the problem was, when that failed 75k later refitted the resoldered original one which lasted the rest of the cars life, then on my mk2 it started cutting out on the motorway and found slamming the drivers door would cause it to come back alive, resoldered the relay and its been fine since!)
