Hi all, just bought a galaxy mk3 2008 from a neighbour who stuffed it in the snow. Its taken light damage to the front drivers side but no engine bay intrusion and no airbags deployed. It did run and drive before the crash but now I cant get it to start. The battery was flat so I changed that and now the engine turns over normally and sometimes even catches briefly like it wants to start but cant quite.
Looking for any tips before I dig deeper
I am not sure if the diesel has an inertia switch, usually ford ones are located by the kick panel, have a check both sides see if there is one.
Have you had it plugged in to see if any codes stored?
Also you say no engine intrusion but could there have been some damaged cables or fuel lines?
I cant find any form of reset so maybe there isnt one? No codes and I dont think any damage to fuel lines etc as nothing dripping and damage isnt that much.
One thing is it still says low battery on the display???
Is the battery voltage good? Also have a check of earths in case one has been damaged somewhere. A quick test is put a jump lead from battery neg to the body somewhere see if that changes things also worth doing it to engine aswell and seeing what happens.
Have you had a check of fuses make sure non have blown?
Have you tried charging the battery up
