Hi all, ive got a mk2 Galaxy with a factory fitted sat nav, its the double din type. firstly ive only got a belfast disc, which is of no good to me being as im on the east coast, ive tried fraud for a replacement disc n got told "that obsolete now so we no longer can get hold of them!". ive tried various places and keep failing to get one to work. so unless i can get hold of one from somewhere/someone my only real other option is to upgrade the head unit. my criteria is
usb port
running android not windows (my bro in law said android is best)
sat nav (ideally but not essential, as can use a stand alone)
SD Card slot if poss
DAB again if poss - might need to upgrade the aerial, so look out for that post lol
so, im after links/suggestions....etc....
I have the last version of nav disk for the unit fitted the mark 2ââ,¬â,,¢s I can try and burn a copy and stick in post if you want?
Mods apologies if this not allowed please feel free to delete post.
ive tried to PM you but it says your inbox is full.

Hi Johnnyroper, if you could tht would be brilliant, my bro in law found out tht the copies ive been sold have been burnt to disc too fast as have got loads of bad sectors on them. so not too sure how you would burn it at a slower speed......i gave up copying discs etc....years ago.
Regards
Dominic

Ok mate pm me when you have spoke to him as I donââ,¬â,,¢t have a clue with all that kind of stuff,itââ,¬â,,¢s all black magic to me
Just got off the phone with him n he's said it's way too much hassle as it needs to b uploaded correctly otherwise it won't work, plus the maps will already b at least 5yrs out of date. So I'll prob just look at upgrading the head unit instead. Thanx for ur help thou m8.

No problem
I've been watching the improvements to this brand over the years. Seems to be quite popular. Most of them use an app (either onboard or from a phone via Bluetooth) for sat nav.

Factory discs and cards are very heavily protected. It doesn't seem worth the effort to acquire something that will be well out of date.
