hi all, long time lurker first time poster.... :) , I noticed tonight that the drivers heated seat wasnt warming up, the passenger side one works lovely thou. i heard that there are relays under the seats, but ive had a look and i cant spot them (am hoping to swap them over to check if they are working). can any body help me on this????
After another look today I've found these but none of them look like relays to me. Am I just being blind??? Do you have the same plugs under the working seat?
I would think the relays would be in the main panel under dash not under seats themselves.
Has drivers heated seat ever worked?
Sure those yellow connectors are for airbags (caution) I cant see no relays in the diagram for heated seats check for voltage under seat connector (six pin plug)
Yes the heated seat did work when I brought it, but not as warm as the passenger side, yes the plugs are the same in both seats.
I did wonder if the little plugs were to do with the airbags as it just says to me "leave me alone" lol. So the feed to the heated seat is on the yellow plug with the purple sticker?? Or do I need to carry on looking??
So those plugs are they usually connected together and one side goes up in to the seat? As it worked before but not as warm as other side I would hazard a guess the element has burnt out.
Looking at pic again they do look like air bag plugs as the plug and wiring is yellow and they are spring loaded type.
Can you see any wiring that goes up to the seat? The heater will be thicker gauge cable than air bags and wonââ,¬â,,¢t be yellow.
Yup step away from the yellow plugs!!
The heated seats are black, 4 pin plugs and live next to the airbag connectors. The should be attached (as should the airbag ones) to that brass coloured plate you can see in your photo.
From there the wiring goes back to the heated set switch which controls the heat, thats actually the most likely thing thats failed. After that it'll be one of the seat pads, usually the base, which has gone
Cheers mirez, I'll swap over switches n take it from there.

Well finally got round to swapping switches over, now comes the strange bit. Any reason why they are different colours (brown & green) I swapped them over n neither of them worked then!, swapped them back n they worked..!!.. go figure that out, ideas???

Sorry I should have said tht the drivers one still doesn't work. Is there a reason y the backs of the switches are a different colours???

Probably just to identify which switch fits to which plug? Sure when I had my dash out all the switches were colour coded on the centre dash panel.
Ah tht wld make sense, I test the wires to the plug under the seat n if I get a 12v feed then it will prob confirm tht the heated element has gone.
