Title: mk3 dash cluster intermittant issues
Post by: 2355andrew on February 14, 2018, 09:31:29 PM
Hi...so my mk3 2008 2.0 tdci has developed a dash cluter issue. Basically the four needle guages ( speed, rev, temp and fuel) just randomly stop. They stop at whatever posistion they are in and will only reset once the key is turned off then back on agian. All the LEDs always work as does the digital dash part (milage section) it is just the four needle guages that fail.
Any ideas will be greatfully recieved!! Thanks guys an girls.

you could try disconnecting the battery for a bit, make sure you have your radio code though.

Hi we have had same probs with ours. Its the Plug/connections on the back of the Instrument cluster. When it all stops working hit the top of the dash with your hand it will all come back on. We sent ours away eventually to a company in Colchester who repair them. Had it back in 3 days fixed cost us Ã,£178.00.

The dash is easy to remove and dismantle.  If you have any skills at all with a soldering iron, a few hours should save you a shedload of money.
