i have a recon alternator coming today. has anyone any experience of replacing alterantor on a mk 1 ford galaxy/vw sharan 2.8 ghia and can offer some advice? it looks very tight and i am thinking i will have to remove airbox and some of the front of the car to access.

any help appreciated

Yes you need to remove the air box and the headlight and the headlamp shield to access the alternator bolts.
