Title: Galaxy TDi Limp Mode / Misfire Issue

Okey dokey, quick rundown of situation. Engine busted in my Galaxy TDi 115bhp, so changed it with engine from breakers yard - same AUY engine complete with injectors and turbo from an auto. Replaced flywheel, clutch, driveshafts, timing belt kit, etc with new, then installed in car.

Car was running ok'ish, but goes into limp mode when on long hills. Turbo works fine on short bursts of speed. Replaced MAF with brand new Bosch one and a new EGR valve, same issue. Tried cleaning turbo with sprays, expensive fuel additives, etc, same issue. Fault code is an intermittent positive boost deviation. Also changed the N75 valve and some of the vacuum hoses.

When turbo is boosting up well, there is what feels to be a misfire in lower revs, but when in limp mode it runs nice and smooth. I can still get the car to 70mph in limp mode, but without the turbo and it takes ages to get there and no oomph.

Any ideas? I have a spare turbo, but not keen on doing the change now engine is in car. Have covered around 2000 miles in it. I have manually moved the actuator arm and although it feels stiff, it does open and close and have moved it via the actuator using a vacuum pump.

Clean vnt if it feels stiff it will only get worse with heat,mr muscle down egr outlet with a silicone hose should clean out enough to get working then do Italian tune up.

It's not too bad to change the turbo. I've read several write ups that say you need to remove drive shafts but all I did was put a jack under the engine, remove the right engine mount bolts through the chassis rail and slide the engine forward on the trolley jack until it was almost touching the radiator (I didn't need to disconnect any pipe or wires to do this). That gave me enough room to get the turbo between the diff and the bulkhead.

Cheers for the replies. Will try Mr Muscle first as the easy option, then if no joy will change the turbo just in case the turbo vane linkage is worn out, hence a little stiff to move.
