Title: missfire judder
Post by: Alan Vallance on November 22, 2017, 05:33:04 PM
Hi there my 53 ford galaxy 1.9 tdi starts ok and runs fine for the first 5 to 10 mins then starts to judder as though its misfiring you can here this when stood idling engine sounds rough. Turn it off and leave for 5 mins then she is ok for the rest of the day thought at first might be faulty injector or injector electrical rail but when the garage plugged the laptop in which worked before now they can not get into the ecu to get fault codes, help is much appreciated.

Injector rail is certainly a contender!

The Galaxy isn't a 'difficult' car to read, they nearly always work fine so if its not connecting then check the obvious (fuses, connector etc) and check the reader is OK on another K-Line car. If it is then its worth checking the ECU connectors as they can corrode in rare cases.

all fuses are ok and test equipment works fine on other cars as have been there when used on mine and other cars

Injector loom fairly easy to change just have to remove rocker cover. Best bet for replacement is VW dealer I would say, if memory serves correct they are about Ã,£60

Odd you canââ,¬â,,¢t access ECU with scan tool, like Mirez suggested have a check of ECU plugs for water ingress/corrosion
