Hi all,
I've got a worsening rattle that occurs when I reverse and sometimes when coming to a stop in forward gears. It seems to be coming from under the steering column, but hard to narrow down as it only happens when the car is moving. It's a sort of gentle, loose rattle, not loud but noticable. Power and handling are fine, auto gear changes are smooth. Could be a bit of tin shielding, or could be something sinister in the drivetrain - any ideas how I can figure out what it is?

Can you get someone to walk alongside car somewhere quiet to listen for noise as it could be something like a backplate. Also are you able to get underneath to cheaply around for anything amiss?
my thoughts also, but also look at the brake plates.
Apologies for typo should have been looksy around underneath
