Hello
need some advice just bought 05 galaxy zetec auto diesel went on motorway o/taking and power dropped. i pulled up then re joined the m/way but the same thing happened. the power went on the hills or slight inclines. i spoke with the seller of the car and he said it happened to him he had everything checked, turbo fine he said the likely reason was the mass airflow valve and once fixed it should be ok. after googling everywhere it does seem to be a fault that keeps re-occurring.
Please can anyone advise the best way to deal with this.
thanks
was this a private or dealer sale?
either way i would be getting them to pay for any repairs/replacement of any parts that are required.
it does sound like the maf, iirc if you unplug it and theres no change in the way the engine runs then its fubared.
im sure the info is on here but if not someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.
Hello and welcome to the forum.
If your going down the route of fixing this yourself then you need to scan for fault codes first, may well be the maf
sensor but you may also have boost issues which can be difficult to pinpoint without the help of a vagcom lead about 10 quid and free software available from eBay
thanks for replying.
I will go into ford dealers and get them to check it out, would be worired if this happened again especially on the motorway.
thanks :-\
