Hi guys hope you can help, discovered a leaking rear calliper on my 04 Alhambra, bought a new replacement off ebay and took to a garage to fix. They have rung to say fitted calliper but brakes need to be stood on to stop the car. Obviously I hope they check all vacuum hoses etc. but they did say it looks like they would need to remove the engine to fit a new servo?? is this correct?? any other ideas on the subject?? many thanks lee
Before it went in garage were the brakes solid like no servo assistance or is it since they did caliper?
I would think it is not an engine out job to replace servo but it is in a nightmare place to access. I take it they have checked the obvious like vac pump is working and hoses all connected? I would imagine they have disturbed something when taking res cap off to fill fluid,I cannot believe a servo would simply pack up while in garage unless it was like this prior to caliper change that is.
Sounds like theyve flipped the seals probably by using a pressure bleeder. Tell em to do one though no way is it an engine out job. Did mine on the drive in 2 hours so they are taking the piss
