I have just saved my Galaxy from the mechanics who wanted to strip the gearbox and or replace it. I did not believe them. And cleaning all the electrical contacts to the ecu fixed the problem. Cost Nil vs Ã,£600. Beware of the mechanics. Now when it rains the footwell floods on the near side. I have not got a clue how it gets in there. Please do not recommend changing the gearbox :)
Take it through a car wash and look for a leak. Many year's ago I remember a few that leaked from a seam by the a pillar 1/4 window. Also clean out the drain holes under the scuttle panel .

Thanks for the advice. I will try a hose pipe. Otherwise the car is all good
Also remove the back end of the wheel arch liner, you'll find dirt leaves and other debris there.
Enough mud to pot a plant in there usually.

Peel back the carpet and run hose over it see if you can locate the water running in.
The quarter light windows have been known to leak in as they can be loose, also windscreens can leak if it has not been bonded properly.
Another possibility is the door seal gone a bit flat if it has take off and feed some washer hose in to it with lots of lube to pack seal out again.
Failing that get the auto box removed and stripped down🤣
aircon drain pipe routed the wrong way?
is the pollen filter fitted?
