Title: 03 Ghia - whats is worth?
Post by: Mirez on June 26, 2017, 07:13:29 PM
Sooo sad times but I think its time to let the Gal go. Its been faultless for us and the longest car we've owned (bought 2nd owner in 2009).

2003/03 115 Manual with 115K miles
Factory sunroof, xenon headlights, leather and bodykit
Lowered on the factory setup and stainless exhaust
Full service history and oil/filter every 6k from 45K miles.
Immaculate condition inside and out, not a dent or even door ding on her.

Now parkers has this at Ã,£1300 but they are advertised all the way to Ã,£4000 on ebay/autotrader so i'm completely confused where to price it... thoughts please!

Having seen your motor it is an excellent example so I would be looking higher than the parkers guide,I have been looking at prices recently as mine will be going soon so if I were you I would be pricing around the              Ã,£3-3.5k mark and see what interest you get. The ones I have seen around Ã,£4K have been dealers so they are usually higher than private.

What's on the cards as a replacement to the old gal?

Thanks! Yeah 3.5k is what I was initially thinking, guess I can always lower the price if no interest eh!

At the moment the plan is to get rid of the galaxy and then look to swap the eos for a dsg version. It might change in that time to an Audi S1 or A3 but its going to be her car not mine so who knows!

Exactly pitch it at 3.5k and just see how it goes if no interest then lower it,would make someone a nice reliable motor.

Mine will be going soon as mrs wants something smaller now,she hates parking it at places like longleat with small spaces, never get the kind of money that you will for yours though.

Bought a 2005 A3 sportback with knackered head and a yellow door and wing, plan to get door and wing painted white fit replacement head and then run it for a year until house stuff all done then see what to get then.

garage near me have a couple of ghias 55 and 06 up for 6K both have around 65k on the clock.but no doubt bog standard.
yours i would think has numerous mods?surely that has to be taken into account, plus condition etc.
so maybe chance your arm explain in any ad you out up and price 4.5k ?

I'm sure a Mk2 Galaxy fan somewhere looking for an excellent and customised example would be prepared to pay considerably more than the book price, if I had the money I'd consider taking her off of your hands myself! Sad times.  :(

I think youââ,¬â,,¢d be looking at around Ã,£2K on the open market. It looks like a nice car but sadly the age is a concern. At almost 20 years old, the rust will now be starting to set in and rubber components will be going brittle.
