Sounds coincidental to me as I cannot see it's related to spring change.

Most likely seizing caliper easy way to check jack that corner up with gearbox in neutral and do a rotational test,I am guessing you will find it fairly stiff to turn.

If it's the sliders you may be able to clean and lubricate but it would require wheel off etc to take caliper off carrier.
If it's the piston seizing in bore then not much can be done other than replacement.

Can you still turn the wheel by hand with it all cold or is there massive resistance? If there was no evidence of this issue before the strut was removed then the only way I can see it could have happened as a result of the recent work is if the brake hose was kinked, twisted or otherwise strained when the wheel knuckle was lowered to get the strut out, normally you wouldn't disturb the caliper or brake disc from their mountings when removing the strut.

EDIT: In Chris's writeup (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/ford-galaxy-front-suspension-top-mount-and-bearing-replacement/msg12079/#msg12079/) I see the brake caliper was removed from it's mountings so my above comment about it not being disturbed may not be correct.

EDIT#2  ::) : Having re-read the original post properly this time I see you say it's the opposite side that's binding, not the side which had the strut removed, in which case disregard everything I've just written!

Still, something odd has happened for it to go from "no problem" to full-on seized with no warning.
