Title: MK3 sharp clutch?
Post by: PD1000 on February 27, 2017, 10:02:32 PM
Hi, I recently purchased a 2012 mk3, is there any such thing as clutch adjustment? it seems very sharp even when you take up the bite point it can stall very easily, or, am I not used to it yet!!!

It will be hydraulic so no adjustments available, could try bleeding it but other than that not much else can be done unless clutch is worn.

Should have an anti-stall feature.  When you get to the bite point (foot off the accelerator) do the revs rise about 300rpm?  If not, there is a fault.  Possibly something as simple as one of the clutch switches.

If thats your first Ford diesel (Mk1/2's dont count!) with the TDCI engine then its just a learning curve. They are different to drive and you can stall them very easily until you adapt to suit them :(

Hi

I have a 2010 Galaxy and the clutch is also very sharp. I've managed to stall this car very easily but have slowly got used to it. It's Been like this for two years with no further issues, yet !!

I hope this helps Dave
