Can anyone confirm or otherwise that windscreen washer jets in this car are non-adjustable? Much of the spray misses the windscreen where it's needed and simply goes over the top of the car. I am unable to see any adjustment in the nozzles the way cars used to have. Nothing in the handbook either - maybe permanent perfection is assumed.
No need for any reply - dealer has confirmed there is NO adjustment so parts of windscreen are left unwashed while the roof gets a good soapy soaking. Looks like we'll have to resort to a washing up bottle filled with screenwash and stuck out the window...
I find it hard to believe that they are not adjustable. But....
At one point, the Focus had "mist" jets. Heated as well. I know they are a direct swap for Mondeo ones. You could try a set of those, if they fit.
Just had a look at the owners manual and it show them being adjustable in the normal way.
It may be that they are concreted with water deposits. If you can find a really snug fitting pin you would be able to put a bit more leverage on the ball to make it move. If it breaks, you can pick up secondhand ones on ebay - soak them in vinegar for a few days before fitting to remove any debris.
My manual/handbook doesn't show anything about adjusting windscreen washer jets. Not that the handbook can always be described as authoritative when it shows headlap bulbs as a user/driver task, despite bumper removal being necessary.
Looking at the jets, there does not seem to be anything that can be moved. You really have to wonder at the design thinking here. Dealer suggested undiluted screenwash to lessen the excessive spray angle but that's what's in use as it is.
