A quick question from a struggling fool....
Is the parking sensor switch in the centre console supposed to light orange when on like the demister switches?
Mine just stays green :(
Thanks Paul
Yes when they are operational.
Ah damn it
That means the one I got and the one I just bought are broken
😔
I take it the parking system is working correctly.
I don't think it is as another one still doesn't work. So thinking it must be the module....
I get a long tone when reverse is engaged and then a beeping like reverse warning system on a van or lorry
I would say there is a parking sensor fault, have you got access to vcds to plug it in and check fault codes aswell as measure blocks to see what each sensor is doing?
You could also have a look under passenger seat at control unit for signs or water damage and also the condition of wiring to rear sensors under the car.
You can unplug the wiring by nearside rear light and measure resistance from there to each sensor.
Wiring underneath car all looks good and no signs of water under seat however when I removed the module it had been opened before and glued shut so I expect it is the problem component
Strange it has been glued shut as they pop apart fairly easy and pcb slides out. Did you slide pcb out and check for water damage inside?
Mine looked fine on outside but had clearly had water ingress previously, although wasn't the fault all 4 rear sensors were shot vcds scan showed the fault codes and non reading sensors on measure blocks.
I would get codes checked first as control box not cheap best price for used one I found was Ã,£70
Thanks. Going to local garage next week to replace a abs sensor to clear dash lights so will get the parking sensors checked too. The inside of module didn't look in bad shape
