Post by: mxa16 on January 01, 2017, 09:44:52 PM
hi new to mpv  ownership !
got 2000 zetec with key activated central locking but I thought it would have remote key fob to open car but may be wrong,
got old style key with light in it which the old escorts use to have and blank key and neither appears to have transponder in is this normal ?
thanks in advance

[W4] If it's a Mk1 Galaxy that you've got as per your profile then all keys to my knowledge should have PATS (immobiliser) chips in them, however, possibly not all Mk1 Galaxies had remote locking fitted as standard therefore you may not have a remote key. You could always enter your registration number into Ford etis (http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do?) and look in the build features to see if it was equipped from the factory with remote locking?
