I do a lot of small manouvours where I dont wear a seatbelt (legally) and was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off the seatbelt warning chime?
Join the wires at the seatbelt buckle?
You can turn it off in the software. If you have the Ford tool then it's a checkbox else you can follow this procedure:
Apply the parking brake.
Place the transmission selector lever in P (Park) - vehicles with automatic transmission or the neutral position - vehicles with manual transmission.
Turn the ignition switch to position 0.
Close all the vehicle doors from the inside of the vehicle and start with the seatbelt unbuckled.
Turn the ignition switch to position II. (Do not start the engine) and wait for the safety belt warning indicator will extinguish within 10 seconds.
The remaining steps must be completed within 60 seconds or the procedure must be repeated:
Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt nine times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
The safety belt warning indicator flashes three times to confirm the belt minder status change.
To activate the belt minder, repeat Steps 1 through 7.
After confirmation, the deactivation / activation procedure is complete.
Is that applicable for all later model fords?
Yes mate, those using the later electronics. So the ones that were launched or updated from around 2006
Ok mark might give that a try on my 14 plate tranny connect before I give it em back.
3 different settings on my tranny
Seatbelt light on all the time and starts bleeping as soon as move off
No light until at about 7mph then bleeping
Or off permanently
While changing noticed it was 6 times of plugging in and taking out seatbelt to get 3 flashes of light to confirm setting
If it's only short minor manoeuvres, put your hazards on; it stops the chime.
Just wear the belt, if u have a crash u will be glad u did!
