Was just wondering if anybody has change the gearbox oil on a manual and if it is very difficult to do the car has done 150,000 miles and was thinking maybe it should be changed don't know whether it's a sealed unit or has a drain plugs and Filling point or how much it would take to do it any help would be great.
Not done it on a galaxy but it is fairly easy there will be a drain and a full plug. Make sure fill plug comes out before dropping the oil. Usually around the 2ltr mark in manual box.
Hi Tony, Very easy job to do! best jacking nearside front up and taking wheel off,
then you can see fill plug on end of gearbox lying about three o clock on the right of the box, the drain plug is of course underneath the box, as johnny says make sure that you can remove the fill plug before you drain it! and make sure you get the right oil, its not just normal 75/90 gear oil, it needs to be fully synthetic 75w
hope this helps, cheers Dave
