Title: Ford Galaxy 2004 key fob
Post by: johnden3 on November 02, 2016, 06:09:28 PM
Can someone help me please?  I need to have a new key made for my Ford Galaxy as the circuit board on the key has gone  faulty and is irreparable. I need to know if there is any way
to have it done than going to the Ford dealers who, I imagine,  charge a lot.

Regards

Dennis

Buy one on the flea bay and swap circuit board over to your key making sure you don't lose the immobiliser chip from yours. You can then programme the remote fob to work your locks. Procedure in ref library of how to do it

The trouble with cloned/pattern keys is you cannot code in new keys if you only have a cloned and a standard one. If key itself is fine and it's just the pcb for remote locking far easier to get a good used key and swap the board over then programme it in.

Hi johnnyroper

Thank you for your response. I already tried once likeyou suggested, but sadly it turned out to be a dead PCB. I am going to buy another one now and have it programmed.

Dennis

Somebody on [eBay] also offers a repair service for the Galaxy 2 button remote keys, see here (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Galaxy-Remote-Key-Fob-Repair-Fix-Service-2-button-/151888262655?hash=item235d3ef5ff:g:4A4AAOSweWVXe5~C), however, as has already been suggested getting a good secondhand remote fob and programming it to your vehicle is probably the cheapest and best option.

I got this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/112165115695 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/112165115695) for my Galaxy, as i have the original key tag with code on it, the guy was able to cut the key blade to work my locks, and with two unique keys i was able to code the immobilizer chip my self, the remote is easy to program as well :)

-if you dont have two unique keys just use the immo chip from old key
Title: Is Ford Galaxy Mk2 2 button key fob same as Sharan, seat etc
Post by: johnden3 on November 05, 2016, 01:35:34 PM
Dear all

I thank you all for responding to my previous mail in regards to the problem I have with my Ford Galaxy MK2 key fob that has a faulty circuit board. A few of you suggested that I bought one from ebay and just swap the circuit board over. I have now seen a few for sale on ebay which operarte on the same frequency Siemens 433.92Mz. Some of the sellers are selling the look alike 2 button key fob (same frequency) for Sharan, Seat, Alhambra etc . I want to know if it will work for my Galaxy once it is programmed?
Kind regards
Dennis

You need to be sure the immo chip is the carbon type ID44, and not glass type ID48 wich i think was used in newer Sharans/Alhambras, and yes the 433.92 MHz remote for Sharan/Alhambra will also work with the Galaxy
