Title: Someone from NC?
Post by: Hej-Hej on October 29, 2016, 06:55:26 PM
Hi there, one of you guys from New Castle who will pick up this dog guard and post it to Denmark for me, as they wont ship it? :D

Seems very hard to find original dog guard? At least here in DK..

I can do that.  Would be next weekend before I can collect it, though.  And I've no idea how much it would cost.  Looks like it would be easily damaged unless stoutly packed, making likely to be rather expensive.

That would be really great! And the weekend is just fine too.
i will expect the shipping to be more expensive than the dog guard it self, and thats fine with me  ;)
Maybe handled by GLS or so?....

OK.  I presume you can PM on here, so I suggest that we take the remainder of this off the board.

This has turned out to be quite problematical.  First of all, I found out that I had to palletise it for shipping.  Got that done just before Christmas, as I was sourcing second hand (free) pallets and it took quite a bit of time.  Then, the bid that I found for transport tripled when the final dimensions were put in to the courier's website.

Now communication seems to have broken down.

So, one last try: does anyone know of a way of getting a Galaxy dog guard from NE England to Denmark?  Is there a friendly international haulier anywhere?  It's palletised and measures 150cmx120cmx30cm.  Weighs about 30kg.  If I unpack it, the dimensions would be something like 150x120x15cm and maybe 10kg.

If there is no response, I have a dog guard for sale.  It's the full-height one - no centre divider.  Exceptionally cheap and I may be able to deliver.  Unpacked, it fits in the back of my Mondeo estate with the seats down.

You don't fancy a trip to Denmark then :P

What's _really_ annoying is that I had just come back from a trip that took me the length of Denmark when the request came.  It would have been difficult but I think I could have managed the guard along with all the other stuff you take when travelling long distance.

Last chance.  If Hej-Hej doesn't respond, it's going to have to go next week.

Removed from a 57 Sharan, presently in NE England, stands me about Ã,£20.  Can deliver in Durham/Northumberland/T&W (but why would I need to?) and meet further afield by arrangement for the cost of fuel.  I'll post it in the for sale forum, with pics, end of next week.

@Hej-Hej has been logged in to this site within this last week, so has he just not been responding to you?

No; I think he's just lost interest, which is fair enough.
