Hi there, this one might be for
@Mirez ;)
1,
Can i use a 433MHz, 2 button flip key made for a Golf ? "1J0 959 753" Will it operate my Gals central locking (current key says Siemens 433.92, 5WK4 790/97/98)
2,
Am i right that the immo chip i need will be ID44 and the VW one comes with a ID48 ?
3,
Can i then take this key https://www.ebay.com/itm/401149148877 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/401149148877)
And swap the ID48 chip with a ID44 chip and then use it for my Galaxy?
So long as you have the 433.92 2 button Siemens it should code in to your car.
The pats chip from your original will need to be swapped over but inside of casing needs some modding to accept it.
I was thinking more of buying another ID44 chip off ebay, to keep my original key as is.. will that get me troubles?
And yea, im aware that the ID44 chip wont be an exact fit in the case made for ID48
I think I am right in saying so long as you have an original ford pats chip and not a cloned one then a replacement can be coded in using original key?
I have both the original remote fob key, the standard key without remote and the all plastic wallet key, so should be able to do the coding, and just like the flip style key better :)
Maybe this one will be a direct fit, only need cutting the keyblade and program remote and immobilizer?

The Ford PATS immobiliser system on the Mk2 Gal allows you to add/ clear keys without the need for diagnostic equipment- as long as you have at least two working PATS keys, so cloned keys as you say are no good. If you've only got one working key then your only options are to have it plugged in by Ford or the like or get a clone of the existing key.
The VW/ SEAT implementation of the immobiliser system used on the Sharan and Alhambra doesn't allow you to do this handy little procedure without diagnostic equipment and relevant security codes though. Good for security- yes. Good for the home mechanics wallet- no!
Luckily i got three working keys, and with that sayd, acually i never tried the two non remote keys just asuming theyre working ::)
With the VW's and Ford's using two different immo systems, will the chip still be interchangeabel? Ie, can the 7M3 959 753 VW with ID44 chip be programmed to start the Galaxy??
Wo regarding the remote side - You need a two button key from the Sharan \ Alhambra. The three button keys wont work and the 7M platform uses a different rolling code system from other VAG cars so bora \ polo keys also dont work.
Regarding the immobiliser - VW and Ford are entirely different systems. Its one of the few things that were individually designed by the manufacturers. The only way is to open the flip key, remove the VW chip, dremmel out the plastic a fraction and then glue in a Ford chip, either from your existing remote or a new one.
So the Alhambra/Sharan two button remote (7M3 959 753) will operate the galaxys central lock, but other VW two button remotes wont? Even though its running 433 mhz..
And no VW or Seat key will ever operate the immo system of the Galaxy? Then what chip will i need for the Ford PATS IMMO system, if i still want to keep my original keys in fully working order?
:)
Correct, you need a sharan or bamma one. 433 is NOT the correct frequency, 433.92 is what you need.
Ive forgotten the name of the ĉhip Ford used, I just got a second hand galaxy remote key and nabbed the chip for mine.

Ahh i see, clever 8-) so when they claim that it fits all three of the S/G/A its simply not true >:(
Then the big question will be.. do the pats chip fit from other ford's or will it have to be a key from a galaxy? :P
My Galaxy remote key has a Philips chip with exactly the same number as this (https://www.nwkeys.co.uk/Product/t15-philips-crypto-chip-44-7935), if that's the number you need.
Indeed, you'll never code a VW key to the Galaxy and vice-versa. I dont think Ford used anything other then their standard PATS system so any chip should work but tbh and to be safe, get a Galaxy one.
I got a 2 button flip key off ebay wich should replace 7M3 959 753 VW key, to fit both the Bamma/Sharan and Gal, it has an ID44 chip like the one in the original Galaxy key and also operates at 433.92 MHz.
The guy did cut the key for my locks for just 5Ã,£ and with two unique keys i programmed the new key to the immobilizer and the remote for central locking just as described in the guides in ref.libr.
The key i bought was this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/112165115695 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/112165115695)
