Is it both sides at same time?

I would be looking at flasher relay, indicator stalk and the fuse box area.

As with any electrical gremlin on these cars check all wiring between car and doors in the rubber boot and also the tailgate, they suffer with wires breaking and shorting across circuits which causes all manner of strange problems.

Where is the flasher relay and wat relays relate to the indicators

Main fuse box a bit tricky to get at,have a look in ref library for guide on relay access and location.

Before delving in pull the body to door rubber boots back and check the wiring fir damage. I would hazard a guess and say there will be some damage and its most likely the cause

No problem but if it is a relay what number is it have changed the hazard switch and made no difference passenger door window also not working but not sure if its related

Turns out on the mark 2 the flasher relay is part of the fuse box control unit, so would mean having to change the fuse box of faulty.

The window fault could well be due to damaged wiring which could also be causing the problem you have.

Next thing is defiantly to check all door wiring and the tailgate then solder/insulate any dodgy ones and check indicators again

Hi,
You mentioned passenger window not working, if not working when passenger door switch operated the break in wire is likely to be in that door. If it doesn't work from drivers door switch, break could be in either door or it could be the motor. Sorry can't help with the inicator problem except to say that checking the hazard flasher switch would have been my first choice as well.

broken or shorting wiring in door to pillar wiring primarily drivers door and tailgate but best check all doors, this is a common problem and can cause havoc with the electrics on the car.
