Air bag light is coming on fairly regularly. Got it plugged in and I'm getting centre frontal restraints sensor. Has anyone got any idea what this means? I'll try attach a picture of the fault on the computer screen. Thanks in advance.
Front crash sensor possibly? There's usually a sensor to detect rapid deceleration in crash circumstances which the restraints module uses to calculate if it needs to deploy the front airbags and to what extent- some newer cars have dual stage airbags which can be fired at different rates I believe.
Restraint I think is the key word, I would assume that's most likely to be the occupancy sensor. Check the connectors under both front seats they are a known Ford weekness.
Good point, the thing I was confused by is the word 'central' in the fault description as surely the occupancy sensors would be sided? ???
You're right, scrap my last reply! So a little digging would suggest this is a problem with the front crash sensor mounted near the bonnet lock.
