Hi hope someone can help, I've recently changed the batteries in my car key for my Ford Galaxy mk 3 now the key won't start my car, I've followed the instructions in owner's guide book for key coding, but it hasn't worked, I have the key that doesn't work another identical key that does and a plastic emergency key.
Does anyone have any ideas how to get the key working or will I have to take it to Ford.
Thanks :-\
Hi Seren and welcome to the Forum!
If the key won't start the car then its lost the immobiliser side of things, normally this is caused by dislodging the PATS chip when swapping batteries which is very easily done on the Mk2 Remote Key but I'm not sure where its located on the Mk3. Try having a rummage about where you swapped the batteries over, you'll be looking for a small block of plastic about 5mm x 2mm!!
Many thanks for the info, found the missing piece and all is working once again.

that was a good result then,as a new from fords would cost you an arm and both ur legs.
i kid you not!!!!!!
