Hi All,
I have an intermittent Driver door locking / window issue that I have traced to the section of the wiring between the door and the body. I know this because a) I have tried a replacement control module to no affect and b) the lock/windows work randomly when I poke/pull that section. Is it easy-ish to slide one end of the gaiter to reveal the wiring for repair, or should I be looking at a replacement loom?
I take it you have a mark3 as it says 07 in profile?
If it's like most cars you should be able to unplug it and slide gator back to extend/solder wiring I would imagine. Even if it means taking door card off and attacking from other side it is doable and far cheaper than replacing the loom.
Indeed, it is a mk3. I suppose it depends where the fatigue-failure in the wire is really - I think the gaiter slides back from the door-end of it rather than where it's plugged into the body. I'll have another look at pulling it out in earnest this time.
But with disconnected from body it gives more room to manipulate it around
