Post by: eskobarnass on August 13, 2016, 11:24:54 AM
Hi All,

Have an Ford Galaxy Ghia 130BHP from 2004. Double Aircon ( sealing ventilation and rear fan.

I want to replace the A/C Pressure Switch or high pressure sensor G65/F129. My question now is

can i pull it unscrew it out or do i need to un pressure it. And later to regas it.

i hope i can remove it and replace it without regas it later??

Not sure how you actually remove it but it can be done without degassing first.

It just unscrews and has a schrader valve in the pipe to keep the gas from escaping.

I went to refill my airco gas and on the label on my car is written

700
1050 + 50

Because i have rear airco they choose to refill with the amount of

1075 and 10gram oil

Is this correct??

Please let me know

Yes, but only if you are 100% sure you have rear AC (Noted by having air vents in the ceiling above each rear seat)

Front and rear capacity is 1050gm + or - 50gm so it can be 1000gm to 1100gm including the oil.

So initially you were changing the high/low pressure switch? was the switch faulty or was there no gas in the system.

And yes i have rear ac because i can adjust on the frontpanel the fan rear. You can hear it in the boot and i have in the middle and boot ventilation in  the ceiling. So double airco.

So is the ammount correct 1075 and  10gm oil....

Mine is front only but when regased had 700g plus 1ml of oil not sure what gram that would be but its but what's been put in yours sounds about right to me.

Is air con running ok? If so leave well alone and trust it is correct.

The replace the switch still faultcode. So they empty everything again  what came out oil very dirty with some stoff between it. Last time they filled it with 1075 and now came out 750 and refilled again with 950 now and nothing worked still same fault code in vcds pressure switch fault. Again empty everything and came out 720 out. Strange

The blue display goes little bit down and red display little bit up and both stopp after 5 sec.

Ahhh strangeeeeee

You have got a leak somewhere then. If it was down of gas after being filled up.
Strange pressure switch cuts it off when there is still gas in system,I would say you need to go to an air con specialist as sounds like you have taken somewhere that just refills? You have got a couple of issues in my opinion

1 leak somewhere

2 either compressor or TEV fault

The guy told me no leak. Because did many times pressure test. Past everything good.

I think the compressor. Will replace it and again refill it. But will do this with airco specalist.

Pressure switch detects both low and hogh pressure so it will cit out on low pressure. I wouldnt replace the compressor, you have a leek and that needs to be addressed before anything else. Highly likely to be leeking at the drier, do the bubble test and see

Dryer and condensor already changed brand new.

Leaking maybe. I will go to the aircospecialist. But i am sure that i need another airco pump because oil black with metal small parts.

Metal contaminants suggests internal failure of compressor.
However to lose refrigerant so soon after regas you also have a leak somewhere, but if going to a specialist tell them everything and they will be able to check for leaks with nitrogen,uv dye and sniffer equipment.
It will also need the system flushing out if contaminants in system as they will end up damaging a new compressor should you have to change it

A second ares prone to leaks on the duel ac system is where the refrigerant pipes enter the rear evaporator, behind the near side rear wheel arch liner.
