Hi there, how do i turn off that annoying "beeeb" everytime a door opens and ignition is ON? Is it possible to turn off using VCDS or similar..?
Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 '02
It is most likely under adaptions and you will need the full version of VCDS lite.
However, im sure someone will be along shortly to confirm this.
Hope so :) I have a full version of vag-com, so i just need to know where and what value to change - if possible. Hope someone here can tell
It must be possible as mine does not make the noise I just get door open indicator on dash but no beep.
Only time I get a beep is the lights on warning.
I also get the lights on warning, when door is opened and ignition OFF but lights still on, and thats fine, but the other warning annoys me.. Would be great if i was able to turn that off :)
After a bit of reding I think it might have something to do with the country selection in the [17 - instruments] in VCDS...
I have mine set to Japan - for the fuel consumption to show in "km/l" as we use in Denmark rather than l/100 km as most of europe as it was set to before, both of these options give the beep when door opens though.. Havent tryed the UK setting as i presume you guys are using, as that would make the trip show mpg. But maybe no beep
Just tryed to change the country selection, that only changed the displayed units in trip computer, but the beeb remained on with all the different options :(
If someone know where in the eeprom for the cluster to turn this off - if possible that way. Please let me know!
@johnnyroper , maybe you could upload your eeprom so that i could compare it with my own or maybe i would just upload yours to my cluster and see if the beep is still there..
I would certainly do that for you if I had any idea how to do it?
I dont think you'll do it basic adaptions, its going to be part of the core s\w for the cluster. If you have a really old laptop with a serial to obd cable then VCSPro can more then likely do it. This was an app before VCDS which had many more functions as VW hadn't cottoned on lol. Its DOS based so you need a real old computer, if you cant find a copy I have it somewhere. Can also be useful for coding things like global opening and auto headlights
@Mirez I do have a old laptop with serial port, only its running windows though but think something like "DOSbox" could do then? but only got a USB to OBD cable, dont know if i can use an adaptor from serial to usb?
So this VCSPro... Can this code the windows to open on the remote? -miss this feature from my old Mondeo..
And for the headlights to turn on when ignition is turned on, without use of the lightswitch?
@johnnyroper You will find a tutorial in the reference library: https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/galaxy-mk2-enabling-distance-to-empty-feature/ you need a VAGtacho interface and software to read out the eeprom, then you could also enable this distance-to-empty feature ;)
You can indeed, global locking\unlocking off remote is just a code change. Auto headlights and wipers require some hardware!
Dosbox should work, but the software is so old it requires COM1, no usb support at all :)
Handy thread on it;
http://uk-mkivs.net/topic/48052-vds-pro/
So i will need at least a new cable then.. Will i find this cable on eBay?
And obviously need the VCSPro software aswell :)
But where do i find wich code to change to enable global lock/unlock?
Would be really great to get this working
So.. Got the VCSpro software up and running but just cant get it to work with my vag com usb cable, having tryed both thru dos-box and booted from a dos boot disk. Think its the usb thats not supported by dos, so will try again when my new KKL-RS232 cable arrives from the bay :)
One thing that buggers me tho, is that i cant connect to the "central convience modul 46" in VCDS software, it connects fine to other control modules but want read #46.. So im kind a nervous if VDSpro will connect to 46 when i finally get it to work... Should i be able to read 46 in normal VCDS?
You dont have a 46 module thats why ;)
Central convenience was merged into 09 Central Electrical for the 7M platform.
Lol. That explains a lot! ;) but in the guide i found to enable global unlocking it tells to open controller 46 in VDSpro app, guess i will have to try open the 09 instead and see if i find the right values in there then :)
So... Finally got the KKL - RS232 cable, and after a bit of struggle and a few attempts, i finally managed to get the global opening/closing off remote to work!! :D
Took some pics, and think i'll make some sort of step by step how-to..
