Hi
I have similar problem wih my ford galaxy 2011 60 plate while driving suddenly the front sensor came on with the long constant beep and this happeneds everytime i touch or press then brake pedal and its goes on for about 4 seconds and then off and when ok traffic its more annoying i cleaned up the sensorsto make sure nothing is on them and it happened on the hottest day of the year in London please help....also if there is away to switch it off i will appreciate it it...ford galaxy 2011 60 reg plate...please any ideas how to fix the problem thank you....
I take it you mean parking sensors?
Very odd they bleep when brake pedal is pressed they are only energised when reverse is selected or if there is a switch in dash?
have you had any bulbs changed in rear lights recently?
i changed the brake lights and there is an error that the bulb need changing and that message has been there and every time i am changing the same brake light.this time after i changed it 3 days later while diving and i pressed the brake pedal to slow down the sound came on and it has been coming in since then every time i brake, and the warning signal light still there any way that the bulb needs changing even thought all brake light are working perfectly fine...
i opened the battery and back on it stopped then it came on back again
Have you fitted a stop/tail bulb the wrong way round? If you have when braking it can put stray feed down tail light wiring. Also the bulb failure light would still be on.
Try removing the bulb and see if parking sensor still sounds when braking.
i took the off the light bulb and put the old one its the same thing whatever i am doing the long beep not going
Unplug the lamp holder and give it a try in case there is a short on it.
I can't picture rear lights on a mark 3 are they mounted on the car or on the tailgate? If tailgate mounted have a check of wiring coming from car in to tailgate. Sounds very much like you have a short on the brake light circuit to me.
i have done what you have told me still the same thing....cant work out the problem still
It still sounds like a short somewhere on brake light circuit to me as there is no reason for Pdc to energise when braking.
If you select reverse with ignition on and engine off do they function normally?
Is yours an auto box? Just wondering if there could be a fault with the wiring to or the inhibiter on gear selector?
I would be looking at tailgate wiring, that's the common between brake and reverse lights.
Theoretically as above the brake lights should come on when put in reverse. Try that with ignition on and engine off so you can walk around the back and check for flickering.
i seen several mechanic..ford dealer wants Ã,£138 just to figure out whats the problem lol...and then 90 per hour to fix the problem i left without looking back...i met an electrician he said it was because they are after market sensors and there is some kind of wiring problem or some sort of electricity thing and because they are connected to the brake thats why they are doing this...today i opened the front headlight i took the whole light out and i unplugged the front sensor the noise is gone but the front sensors not working though so next week i will convert them to manual
Oh right I assumed they were standard fit ones........ Don't understand why they are connected to brake??
I would leave disconnected and not replace with aftermarket ones personally
Ahh yeah you probably should have mentioned they were aftermarket!!
Typically you fit front aftermarket sensors to the brake light circuit as there is no other way of activating them. Normally however you put the brake feed through a switch so you can turn them on\off when needed.
Personally I would ditch the brake feed and wire them to an ignition live via a latching switch.
