Anybody know what gearbox is suspose to be on a galaxy tdi 150 engine code btb as mines just gone bang at 120000 miles. Looks aso gearbox has been replaced before by scrap yard markings on case .mines suppose to have a 3.68 final drive and does any body know what gearbox is suspore to be on there and will any galaxy gearbox fit from 1.9 tdi
3.68 is a fairly common axle ratio on the TDI's (at least the 130 and 150ps variants, not sure about the 90 or 115ps versions), mine is a 130ps TDI and has the 3.68 axle ratio, see also here (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy/incorrect-speedo-on-ford-galaxy-ghia-1-9-tdi/msg6573/#msg6573), so it's fairly safe to say that any 6 speed manual gearbox from a Mk2 130 or 150ps TDI model should be good to fit, possibly any Mk2 TDI model full stop but I'm not 100% on that.
Yup 3.68 is also a common 115 box ratio. The 90 I believe has got a different ratio but its the build year that really defined what gearbox you had. The easiest way to confirm though is to look at the build sheet for your car -
