Hi have the sticky turbo on my mk2 not surprised she's done 160k
Was going to get the terraclean plus turbo clean done
Has anyone else had this done if so at what cost
Considered the Mr muscle route but a few people saying it doesn't last to long
Plus hope to improve mpg as only getting 30.5 on my motorway run to work or is this about right
Cheers for any input

I have done the mr muscle clean a couple of times and it didn't last too long, last time I did it I went in through exhaust exit rather than EGR and it has lasted longer now. However it was only a temp job until I get time to strip and clean properly. Personal opinion is any chemical clean will have same effect as mr muscle mainly because of where the pipe goes in it cannot access all of the vanes.
If you are gonna go down the chemical clean route you would be better just doing mr muscle down egr hole and exhaust outlet, far cheaper and same result.
Once it is free and working again do some regular full throttle blasts in 3rd like when entering motorway as it helps remove crap and stop it building up again.
Does seem the cheaper option as you said the only real way is to remove and clean

Yes only real way is removal but mr muscle will buy you some time as its a bit of a faff getting turbo off and not a quick job.
If going down the chemical route is there any difference in using innotech or the likes instead of Mr muscle

Was also trying to see what price people have paid for terraclean as the turbo clean and terraclean together they wanted 280

In my opinion the mr muscle works just the same as the terraclean due to the corrosive chemicals in it. Obviously it's just my opinion I have no personal experience with anything other than the muscle, looking on vw forums when I had my problem general consensus was they both have same effect by cleaning the carbon deposits it is able to get to.
Rumour has it Oven Pride works quite well
