Title: Mk2 rack replacement
Post by: bengyb on June 29, 2016, 06:51:10 PM
My Gal has a very leaky rack!
(No funny comments!)

Can anyone give me any helpful pointers before I start stripping the old one out and replacing?

I'm intending to overhaul most of the front end at the same time (wishbone bushes, ball joints etc)

This is a great for by the way! Fantastic source of advice!

Hi!
Fantastic forum, one of the most informative I've seen.

I'm hoping to resurrect my crippled aging Galaxy / money pit with help from here.

Howdy! A little bit of discussion on rack replacement here (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy/mk2-alhambra-steering-rack-replacement), I'm not sure if it's absolutely necessary to drop the front subframe in order to replace the rack but it'd probably make access a lot easier if you did.
