hi so having trouble again with power steering pump on 2000 1.9 tdi with air con i was just wondering if i could do away with the air con and put other pump om with bigger pulley any help ;) as the pump is only lasting a couple of month and its a pain having to replace it all the time or is something else causing it ;)
What's happening to the pumps?
The belt makes a squealing noise after a few weeks of fitting new pump and steering becomes stiff it does it most when cornering and it was new belt
Does it get better if revs are raised when steering?
Have you checked the alternator overrunning pulley?
Yes that does sound like a seized alternator clutch pulley.
