The belt makes a squealing  noise after a few weeks of fitting new pump and steering becomes stiff it does it most when cornering and it was new belt

Does it get better if revs are raised when steering?

Have you checked the alternator overrunning pulley?

Yes that does sound like a seized alternator clutch pulley.
