Hi all,
I have an intermittent fault coming up on the dash saying 'STOP' 'CHECK COOLANT'. have checked the coolant which is ok, turn off ignition and back on fault goes away, then from time to time it will reappear. I suspect faulty sensor or connection as engine temp is rock solid at 90 degrees. But the problem is where is it on a 2.3 petrol? info I have found seems to indicate the sensor is on the thermostat housing, but I cant even locate this :(
any help would be great,
Thanks
Tom.
Sorry can't help with location of the sensor on a 2.3 but what you describe sounds more like a faulty level sensor rather than temp to me.
could be , do you know where thats fitted?
Thanks
Tom.
If it is same as my tdi it's in bottom of expansion bottle. Without checking not sure if it makes circuit when empty or goes open circuit, either way it should be simple enough to check its operation to prove if faulty or not
good stuff thanks, the connector was not pushed fully home, seems to have sorted the the problem.
Tom.
Excellent hopefully a nice easy and free fix then.
