evenin all
anyone tried one of them in car deodorizers for the air con ? got a bit of a fusty smell through the vents so thought maybe time to try one, or has anyone a better home made cheaper idea
seem to vary in price from a few pounds to Ã,£12 for an auto glymm one,, usually a good brand, to even dearer german named ones.
thought maybe pollen filter but only been in around 20 months and still looks clean and dry
The ones where it has a long tube to insert down the vents work the best I find, basically it injects the cleaner/disinfectant foam all way down in to bottom of heater box where the dust and condensation collect.
The cans you place on floor that fill cabin with spray only seem to offer temporary fix to the smell.
the musty smell is stagnant water that has settled on the condenser in the dash when it was switched off after last being used. I change my pollen every year as I use it as an excuse to strip and re-grease the wiper spindles. the car can also get a brake fluid change as well !!! while the under bonnet is out I set off one of the aircon bombs in the pollen filter housing so it gets drawn past the fan and the condenser....seems extreme but the smell is also bacteria !!
didnt have the long tube type in shop so got the Autoglymm bomb type
will see how it goes and report in due course if its a load of .....bacteria !
well been done a few days and seems to be smelling nice n fresh with Autoglym
