Hi All,
I understand the 2.3 petrol engine is not VW based.
As a result VagCom cant communicate with the engine.
I am in progress of purchasing VagCom for all the electrics and for when i finally get round to upgrading to the 1.9 TDI or a VW 1.9 TDI.
However in the mean time it would be nice to find a tool i can clear/read fault codes for my current engine.
I couldnt see anything by searching (could be searching wrong).
Do anyone know what tool is most recommended?
I've seen this
http://obd2software.co.uk/shop/home/4-obd2-software-scantool.html (http://obd2software.co.uk/shop/home/4-obd2-software-scantool.html)
However i'm not sure if my OB2 II port is once of these protocals
SAE J1850 PWM (41.6 kbaud)
SAE J1850 VPW (10.4 kbaud)
ISO 9141-2 (5 baud init, 10.4 kbaud)
ISO 14230-4 KWP (5 baud init, 10.4 kbaud)
ISO 14230-4 KWP (fast init, 10.4 kbaud)
ISO 15765-4 CAN (11 bit ID, 500 kbaud)
ISO 15765-4 CAN (29 bit ID, 500 kbaud)
ISO 15765-4 CAN (11 bit ID, 250 kbaud)
ISO 15765-4 CAN (29 bit ID, 250 kbaud)

Brilliant thanks
Will give this a try
I was very satisfied ;) it's easy to use and you will find a cheap ELM327 usb interface from eBay perfect for the job.
