I have the S-MAX 2008 MODEL. \
The fuel pump was broken 2 years ago, and the mechanic ( not authorized) replaced it with VDO pump. Since then, then new pumps were broken very often . After one month, then after 3 months, then after 6 months.
this time the mechanic put a new one TOMCO 77406 . But now also has difficulty to start the engine. i have to try 2-3times to start.
Any advise on this ? Or where i can buy an original pump that is not as costly as in Greece?
thanks
Elias
Have you checked wiring and for fault codes?
Either the pumps you are having fitted are very cheap quality ones or there is an issue causing them to fail?
What engine is fitted to your vehicle? Is it a petrol or TDCI? As above, if the pumps keep failing then there is either an underlying issue that isn't being addressed or the replacement pumps are of substandard quality, or not the correct part. If they are genuine VDO units being fitted then I think you can cross off substandard quality as being the cause.
