Where abouts is the horn situated on the Galaxy?
The reason I need to find it, is that it has stopped working, seemingly, after the front off-side corner was reversed in to.
I've checked the fuse and next want to see if any wires have become detatched on impact but failing that, any advice or pointers as to the likely problem or things to check, would be appreciated, as always. :)
It's behind the front bumper on the offside, forward of the wheelarch liner- there are 2 of 'em if your Galaxy is fitted with an alarm, as mine is (I'm assuming one is the conventional horn and the other the alarm siren)- if you view the below picture full size you can just about make 'em out in the area I've circled red.

Mine has both horns I think one is low and the other high tone? My alarm horn is under scuttle trim.
Good point, I was thinking I'd seen another one up there when I was changing the pollen filter!

That's exactly the place of impact, where the soft tart reversed in to mine! >:(
Is it a case of dropping the belly pan to access them or is there another way?
You can probably get to them through the wheelarch by taking the wheel off (to give yourself some space to work in) and removing the wheelarch liner.
So, having accessed my horns, I find no 12v being supplied there.
I've checked the fuse, which is ok and there is 12v either side of the fuse.
i believe there are some relays somewhere but I'll be darned if I can find them - any tips?
Any ideas what else could be the issue with the horn not working?
Did you just check across the two wires or to a known good ground? (as it could be the return wire that's damaged/failed)
Did you feed 12V direct to the horn to check it's working anyway?

I just tested across the 2 wires :-[
I'll re-check both options you suggested, thouigh there are 2 x horns, it'd be strange if they were both suddenly not working - AFTER THE BUMP TO THE FRONT BUMPER!!!! ???

I've not tested the horn switch and uncertain as to how to do this coz of the airbag. (Bizarrely, I've also aquired an Airbag Fault on the driver's airbag - hmmmm????)
That might explain it, not sure on galaxy but Vauxhall horn and air bag wiring comes through the squib/position ribbon assembly.

Doh! What's a "Squib?" and where do the wires come out, under the dash?
It's the 'clockspring' or rotating airbag/ horn contact which sits behind the steering wheel.
I.M.O you need to check to see if 12V is being supplied to the horns when the horn button(s) are pressed on the steering wheel, you should only have 12V supplied to the horn when the button is pressed- it shouldn't be permanent.

I checked the 12V by connecting the meter to both wires to one of the horns and I got my able assistant to press the horn "Switch" but still no 12V
How would I access this rotating contact? How would I remove the steering wheel without the airbag going off?
Is there a way to test if 12V is getting to the horn's switch without removing the wheel?
The wheel can be removed without air bag going off have a look in reference library there is a how to in there. Don't take wheel off completely until you have checked the wiring to squib and buttons.
once you have air bag off you can check wiring then,have you checked the relay?
One other thing to make sure of if you haven't already is that the wiring hasn't been damaged or severed by the impact in the vicinity of the horns. Are you positive there are no blown fuses?

I'm certain about the Horn's Fuse and the impact wasn't enough to do more than crack the paint on the bumper

Not checked the relay yet but please, what's the "Squib?" ??? :)
The squib is the rotary switch behind steering wheel,squib is what I know it as from Vauxhall days. It tells airbag ecu position of steering wheel aswell as carrying the wires to airbag and horn buttons/radio controls if fitted to steering wheel.
