you'll love this one. Engine Malfunction light on dashboard, along with ABS and red Handbrake warning light. Then eratic speedo, odometer showing -----, eratic rev counter, oil warning lamp, engine light, malfunction light goes solid red, then just red triangle...
In blind panic I took it to local FORD dealer - who couldn't diagnose the fault. They said "it might be BCM (Body Control Module), or it might be PCM (Power drive train control module), or a wiring fault, or a CANBUS fault. Your bill so far is Ã,£65 - how much do you want to spend?"
Paid my Ã,£65, dragged the car out of there, parked it on my drive - and had a cuppa tea. Guess the car dried out, because with doing NOTHING to it, it started first time, and all the errors were cleared. When it rains, water gets in somewhere, and generates all the fault, leave it to dry out, and it's all fixed.
Ford technicians had failed to notice that the water pipe had come off near to the egr valve - so there was no coolant in the engine when they test drove it...
I've now bought a Vauxhall :)
Iââ,¬â,,¢d go and ask your your Ã,£65 back
